The University of Pretoria said it will not tolerate any form of racist or discriminatory behaviour by staff or students.

This as two white students photographed in domestic outfits with brown paint on their skin caused a major reaction on social media.

University Spokesperson Nicolize Mulder said the two female students have been expelled from residence and not the university.

Mulder said the behaviour of the students is unacceptable. Mulder said the picture was taken at a private 21st birthday party but an investigation was launched because they were students at the institution.

She said the university would not tolerate any form of discrimination or racist behavior by any of its staff or students.
