The Gauteng government has suspended one of its employees who launched a racist attack on white people on Facebook.

Velaphi Khumalo, who works for the department of sports, arts, culture and recreation, is facing disciplinary process for calling on black South Africans to do to white people what Hitler did to the Jews.

The department’s Nomazwe Ntlokwana says Khumalo’s suspension is effective immediately.

“The Department of Sports, arts, culture and recreation has formerly suspended Mr Velaphi Khumalo with effect from today”, said Nomazwe Khumalo.

“We actually view allegation levels against him as being very serious in nature. The department we will actually be following due processes in assuring this matter is finalised”, added Khumalo.
