Protest action turns to looting after De Doorns residents attack trucks, steal TVs

Social Media has been a buzz over yet another looting, this time the looting is occurring at De Doorns in the Western Cape. Social Media videos have been doing rounds showing residence looting trucks.

Apparently the protesters are farm workers who are on strike for high wages. The strike however took a turn when it turned to looting after the residents of De Doorns looted and attacked two trucks. The spokesperson for police in the Western Cape has said police where on scene after hearing of the looting but unfortunately no one has been arrested.

The looting has affected the N1 route and the Western Cape traffic department has officially closed the N1 on both side. The Western Cape traffic spokesperson Kenny Africa has advised motor vehicles to use alternative routes to get to their destinations.
