According to EWN news, a Post Office worker suspected of raping and killing a UCT
understudy in a Claremont post office is back in court today. Uyinene Mrwetyana
(19) was assaulted inside the Clareinch Post Office in August. The 42-year-old
blamed had admitted to the offenses yet couldn't be named by request of the
court. It's been over two months since Mrwetyana was convinced to the Clareinch
Post Office where she was assaulted and beaten with a scale. Police
examinations led to the capture of the accused six days later and he then acknowledged
to the attack. It's since emerged that the man had a criminal record prior to
his Post Office appointment. At his last court order, He never applied for a
bail and the case was postponed for more examination. EWN news also mentioned
that the investigators were still awaiting the results of DNA tests on blood
found inside the office, the suspects’ car and his shoes.
