A 47-year-old woman was found dead on the bathroom floor of her home in Die Boord on Friday.
The horrific discovery of Marianne Hopkins’s body was found by her grade 12 daughter who came from school. She than ran to the neighbours for help and they called the police.
Stellenbosch police spokeswoman Captain Rene Matthee said the teenager heard the family's dogs inside the house, which was unusual, and went round the house to find the back door open.
An initilal investigation showed she had been strangled.
Hopskins silver grey BMW 740i, registration CL 43169 was missing. Police are still not sure if anything else been taken.
A murder docket has been opened. Anyone with information can contact Warrant-Officer Steyn at 082 684 4370.Police are still not sure if anything else been taken.
