The Congress of South African Trade Union in the North West has condemned the alleged intimidation of farmworkers.

This is after a farmworker was assaulted by a group of farmers on a farm in Kleinfontein.

Cosatu’s Provincial Secretary Solly Phetoe has called for an end to intimidation of poor workers and for employees to respect the law.

Phetoe said we are asking the police to protect the police not the farmers who have money that they can protect themselves.

Phetoe added that it is alleged that there are many cases that have been reported to the police and then there are intimidations that they would retrench the workers if the case gets publish on media.
