President Zuma to open N2 Gateway project today

President Jacob Zuma will today officially open the N2 Gateway Integrated Human Settlements Development at the Joe Slovo housing project in Cape Town.

The N2 Gateway Project was launched by the Department of Human Settlements in 2004 as a pilot project and has to date delivered more than 14 000 housing units.

Human Settlements Chief Director of Communications Xolani Xundu explained, “It is to celebrate what has been achieved.”

“You know this was one of the projects meant to pilot the whole concept of integration of different communities, different race groups, different income bands within one community and it is time to showcase what is already there and has been done within the project, hence the president coming to hand it over.” Xunda said
