Three women narrowly escaped death yesterday at Kleinmond beach. The three, a 56 year old Australian, and an 18 and 19 year old from Botswana got into difficulty in an area notorious for rip tides. Local restaurant Paul Richards was working nearby when he saw the women struggling. Richards explains…..

“I Went onto the beach and tried to direct them to safety and to try and keep them calm and from panicking. Eventually after 20 – 30 minutes the girls managed to make it back in. They were standing hugging each other, they couldn’t believe they had gone through that experience, they stayed there, ate something and looked out to see”
