A Cape Town mother appeared in court today on charges of child neglect.
The woman was arrested two weeks ago, after her child was found locked in a car in Woodstock.
It was reported that the child was found chewing on it’s nappy, while the mother was visiting a shebeen.
Woodstock Police Spokesperson Sergeant Hilton Malila says, the women appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on the 29 September and was denied bail.
“However her children were placed in safe custody, while the 2year old toddler remains in hospital in a stable condition.”
