Opposition parties in the Western Cape are rallying to form a coalition that could see the African National Congress’ power further reduced in the province. The Freedom Front Plus has become the latest party to reiterate calls by the Democratic Alliance and the Independent Democrats for the formation of a coalition.

The FF Plus’ CornĂ© Mulder says the ANC is not succeeding in putting the interests of all communities above its internal battles. He says the successful multi-party model of the Cape Metro Council can be replicated on provincial level.
Independent Democrat deputy leader Simon Grindrod has called on all opposition parties to stop the Sikhwatsha led Zuma ANC from taking power in the western Cape for next year’s elections.

‘He added that the Western Cape and its people are tired of the in fighting of the ANC and they have enough.’’
