The African National Congress leaders were in Cape Town Khayelitsha yesterday.
The leaders were visiting and consoling the relatives of the people in Khayelitsha whose home caught fire.
Six people, including four children, died on Sunday after their shack caught fire, which the cause is still unknown.
The African National Congress leaders said housing delivery should be sped up to prevent further deaths as a result of shack fires.
ANC Western Cape chairperson Mcebisi Skwatsha said such occurrences should prompt authorities to speed up housing delivery.
