Lusanda Bill
7 September 2010
Charges against Sunday Times journalist Mzilikazi wa Afrika have been dropped by the National Prosecuting Authority.
Mzilikazi wa Afrika was arrested on August 4th for being accused of fraud in connection to a document purporting to be a letter of resignation by Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza.
His arrest brought about great unrest in the media circles. Many people believed that his arrest was an act of abuse of power by the Hawks.
Wa Afrika said “I got a letter from the National Prosecuting Authority this morning (Tuesday) to say they are withdrawing all the charges against me”.
