Teachers, nurses and other government employees went back to work today, following the suspension of a three-week strike.
In Gugulethu, Cape Town, teachers returned to empty classrooms today as there was no turnout of students.
Zola Phahlana, principal of ID Mkhize High School in Gugulethu today made an urgent plea to all students in the area to return to classes as school was back to normal.
Meanwhile, education consultant Alexander Pinnoch says a lot of revision work has been lost, with some subjects requiring more preparation than others.
