Police female recruits at the training academy have had their heads shaved bare.
One of the police recruits needed medical attention after having her hair cut.
The Freedom Front Plus spokesperson, Pieter Groenewald said the practice to shave female recruits’ hair at the Police College in Ulundi must stop immediately.
Groenewald added that the practise does not contribute to better training but instead it is humiliating and an infringement on their human rights.
Police spokesperson Colonel Vish Naidoo said there would be a departmental investigation.
