180 live crocodiles have disappeared from a farm near Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria. Hawks spokesperson McIntosh Polesa says they inspected the farm last week.
They found 200 crocodiles there and ordered that they not be removed. But when detectives went back yesterday, they found only 20 of the reptiles on the farm.
Farmworkers told the police the animals had been moved to an unknown destination on Saturday night. The farm owner was arrested last week in connection with a multi-million rand theft case involving syndicate allegedly operating in Shoprite Checkers.
