28-year-old arrested for dealing in dagga in Belhar

Members of Operation Restore had an intelligence-driven operation in Belhar on Saturday that brought them to an address in Platteklip Crescent, where a person is allegedly engaged in criminal activity.

When the officers arrived at the location, a 28-year-old male gave his consent for a search. Following that search officers found and seized dagga cigarettes, 96 units of dagga candy, two scales, and an undisclosed sum of money they suspect to be the proceeds of crime.

According to the police Sergeant Wesley Twigg, after being captured, Belhar SAPS arrested the suspect as he was unable to provide a convincing explanation for possessing the mentioned things. All items were provided as support for further investigation.

The suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court after being charged.
