A minibus-taxi task team workshop will begin in Cape Town on Monday

The three-day workshop aims to resolve the challenges in the industry in the Western Cape. These include the violence related to the taxi industry and conflicts with law enforcement and the police.

It follows a violent strike by the taxi industry that led to the death of five people and the destruction of property.

The City of Cape Town says the workshop shows progress made by the province, City and the taxi industry to resolve the challenges faced by the industry.
