A suspect who was arrested on Thursday last week for murders related to the taxi industry is expected to appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The man was arrested in connection with a triple murder
that occurred in Khayelitsha in December last year. He is also charged with
another murder in Masiphumele in June this year.
According to the police spokesperson, Novella Potelwa,
the team has been working on several other taxi violence-related murder cases.
"They are also in the process of bringing another
suspect from KwaZulu-Natal after he was arrested for possession of an
unlicensed firearm in that province. He, too, is allegedly linked to taxi
violence-related murders that occurred in Western Cape”, she added.
