Five arrested for stripping car in Salt River

The City of Cape Town’s Law enforcement Officers arrested five suspects in the early hours of Monday, for being in possession of a suspected stolen Vehicle in Salt River.

Spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, said as officers entered Yew Street, they saw the suspects stripping a silver VW Polo.

‘’The vehicle was checked and reported to have been stolen in the  Khayelitsha area. A Hyundai H100 and a blue Golf was also found partially Stripped  at the same location. It was later learnt that two of the suspects are well known for hijacking VW's and were involved some time back in a shootout with SAPS and Law Enforcement.’’

Dyason said the bakkie and the car were used to ferry the stripped parts to different locations.

The suspects will appear in court soon.
