A 20-year-old burglar was arrested by Metro Police officers on Thursday morning, after he gained entry to a home in Hanover Park by breaking through the roof.
Spokesperson, Ruth Solomons said the suspect was allegedly searching
for valuables.
‘’At around 06:30 this [Thursday] morning, officers were
dispatched to a complaint of a burglary in progress in Lansport Road. The owner
of the home opened the door for the officers indicating that he had heard a
noise from his roof.’’
‘’When the officers investigated, they found the ceiling had
been damaged by the culprit. A thorough search of the premises led to one man busy
searching one of the rooms,’’ added Metro Police Superintendent, Ruth Solomons.
The suspect was arrested for housebreaking and taken to
Philippi SAPS.
