Khayelitsha robbers attacked animal clinic employees with a hammer and a revolver during the robbery.

Two staff of the animal clinic in Khayelitsha are in serious condition after being beaten with a hammer and the butt of a gun on their backs. This occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Khayelitsha's area 20 of Mandela Park as the victims laid prostrate on the road undergoing a robbery. A picket fence was being built by four male clinic staff at a home in Mandela Park as part of their just started "Fencing project" when three unidentified guys came up to them suddenly brandishing a rifle.

Mthobeli Mgumane, a survivor of the assault, stated that the distance between their clinic and the scene of the attack was barely three minutes. The owners of the house were aware of their visit even though they weren't there when the incident happened. The clinic typically offers to construct a secure yard for the dog when a client wants to adopt a dog but does not have a suitable yard to keep it in.

“The three guys ordered us to lie face down on the road. Out of nowhere, one of them began to beat up two of my colleagues, on their backs up to their heads, moving from one to the other. The assault surprised me because none of us were prepared to fight them off,” said Mthobeli Mgumane.
