Man's headless body found in Mitchell's Plain

Mitchell’s Plain police are investigating a case of murder, after the body of a unknown man was found in Beacon Valley, Mitchell’s Plain on Monday evening.

The police’s Wesley Twigg said officers found the decapitated body on the corner of Greyville and Metropolitan Streets.

‘’ Police members attended to the crime scene [at about 21:05], where they found the victim with his head decapitated. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg.

The Western Cape’s Police Oversight & Community Safety MEC, Reagen Allen, expressed his anger at the incident.

‘’This act is despicable and it disgusts me. For someone to commit such a gruesome act, shows that they have lost all sense of humanity. Those responsible for this, should not be freely roaming our streets. They belong behind bars and should immediately be placed there’’

Allen urged anyone with information to report it to SAPS.

‘’SAPS should ensure that this happens with immediate effect. The sooner it occurs, the sooner this community can have peace of mind knowing that these merciless individuals are out of the area and locked up.’’
