THE City of Cape Town is promoting entrepreneurship and the preservation of heritage through an attractive hobby exhibition in the Cape metropole.
“Hobbies have the potential to evolve into flourishing small businesses and even internationally recognised brands,” says Councilor James Vos, Chairperson of the De Grendel sub council.
According to Vos the well-known computer software system, Linux, started off as a student’s hobby.
Over fifty collectors and hobbyists are taking part in this year’s event.
"The City of Cape Town is committed to the promotion of entrepreneurship. The expo offers an opportunity to all residents to explore the many possibilities of collections and hobbies, as well as the opportunities to start a small business,” he added.
Vos goes on to say the expo also encourages the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage whilst entertaining people.
