The National Women’s selectors have announced the four squads that will participate in the Women’s Super 4’s tournament in Potchefstroom on 26 and 27 July.
“The squads have been selected from the affiliates and three other associate members of Cricket South Africa (CSA), only Kei and Mpumalanga Unions did not provide any players,” says Maobi Litheko Media Officer CSA Amateur Cricket
According to Litheko CSA’s Senior Amateur Cricket Manager, Max Jordaan is confident that the SA Women’s squad will benefit from taking part in this tournament, ahead of their tour of England which begins with a One-Day International match against Ireland Women at Wellington College on 31 July.
“The introduction of the Super 4 event would assist in bridging the gap between our provincial competitions and international participation. It would therefore, be an ideal platform to identify the future women international players.” Jordaan
All selected players are expected to arrive in Potchefstroom on 25 July 2008.
