The body of a man estimated to be between 24 and 25 – years old was found lying on his back on a farm next to Olieboom Avenue in Philippi on Tuesday morning.
“A farm worker found the naked body of an unidentified man. He had stab wounds to the chest and bruises on his face,” says Police spokesperson Inspector Bernadine Steyn.
Steyn says police are investigating the possibility that the murder could have been committed somewhere else.
This is the second incident happening in Philippi within a space of less than a week. At the weekend the body of an unidentified man was found by two females that were passing by. The deceased had a copper wire around his neck and an open wound to his head, possibly inflicted with a brick.
“We have opened a case of Murder for investigation and anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Inspector Willie Bachmann at the Philippi Police station on (021) 690 1500,” she added.
