United Nations secretary general, Ban-Ki Moon, said the UN’s International Day of Non-Violence is of very important significance.
The day also marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The International day of non-violence celebrates the life of Ghandi, who promoted peace.
“There is a profound philosophical connection between the fundamental principles of human rights enshrines and the universal declaration and those practiced by Mahatma Ghandi.”
