Human Rights group PASSOP says Western Cape Premiere Lynne Brown needs to prioritise speeding up service delivery at the Cape Town refugee centre. The organisation says service delivery at the centre has still not improved, claiming this is only upsetting the foreigners more.

PASSOPS Braam Hanekom says “the Cape Town refugee centre is an absolute disaster; it is a disgrace, embarrassing for the country and province, because we believe it is embarrassing for the province, we have had a private meeting with the Premiere and we are calling upon her to save the image of this province.”

PASSOP is hoping that the Premiere will take action against the Department of Home Affairs to ensure that the people no longer have to sleep outside the refugee centre.
