The Democratic Alliance has welcomed Education Minister Naledi Pandor’s plan to establish support centers for unruly learners.
The D.A said that the process must be implemented speedily across the country, and they call on the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) to co-operate with this plan rather than rejecting it.
D.A’s Lindiwe Mazibuko said that, it is unfortunate that SADTU has once again taken up a position that undermines the pursuit of a better education system.
She added that in an open opportunity society, every child should have the chance to access quality education, and that every child should be able to learn in an environment which is safe and where he or she is not exposed to violence, abuse of any kind or drugs.
