Yesterday three suspects forced their way into Malmesbury a house and ransacked it. They stole a safe containing some money and a firearm. They then left the scene in a VW Jetta.

The Malmesbury Police pursued the suspects on the N7 highway towards Cape Town and requested from other stations.

Inspector Bernadine Steyn says that “the Table View Police chased the suspects along Koeburg Road, Blaauwberg Road and South Road, where the Volks Wangen Jetta collided with a wooden fence.”

The three suspects took off on foot to a nearby school, while the police continued perusing them. Inspector Bernadine Steyn says that shots were fired and one of the suspects was fatally wounded.

“Two suspects aged 28 and 32 years from Table View and Bellville respectively were arrested on the school premises for Housebreaking and Theft.”

Police have recovered the stolen safe in the Jetta’s boot that was taken from the house.
