South African motorists will be able to breathe a sigh of relief next week - as petrol and paraffin prices are to drop.

The petrol price will drop next week by between 39- and 40-cents a litre.

The Energy Department says diesel prices will be lowered by between 32- and 33-cents a litre.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will come down by 27-and-a-half-cents.

The good news for consumers is the result of a stronger Rand and lower crude oil prices.

Motorists will pay 40 cents less a litre for 95 ULP and LRP.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin is to decrease by 27.5 cents and the Single Maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will fall by 37 cents a litre.
