The National Union of Mineworkers had a meeting with Eskom which deliberated on all demands that were sent to Eskom.

They say they appreciate the role played by the government towards stabilizing of the company however they are unhappy with regards to the behaviour of undermining the mighty NUM by the minister of Public Enterprise.

Paris Mashego says “We will be embarking on a programme which will include demonstrations, picketing and a strike. We have lowered our demands to 12% and at the maximum at 13%. We continue saying to the employer that if they don’t address the issue of the Apartheid wage gap, if they don’t increase the housing allowance our members are definitely going on a strike”.
