City of Cape Town announces road closures for the State of the Nation

The City of Cape Town released its road closures guide that it has already begun to put in place in the lead-up to this year’s State of the Nation Address that will be held in the city’s CBD. Motorists are advised to take note of the closures and plan their routes accordingly. 

The local municipality said that the closures were placed in strategic positions to assist with traffic flow and accommodate the SONA. The road closures will affect the normal flow of traffic in and around the city bowl.

The City of Cape Town also advised motorists that some of its parking areas in the City Bowl will also not be accessible to them.

The officials will be cordoning off Darling Street between Buitenkant and Lower Plein Street, Parade Street between Darling and Caledon Street, Closing Parade until 8 February, at 11.59 pm. Parking areas that will be not be closed are in Roeland.
