Sixty seven people have been injured after the bus they were traveling in, over turned.
According to ER24 paramedics the accident took place in the early hours of this morning, on the N3 west bound just before the M7.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the SA Road Link bus lying on its side facing oncoming traffic from the freeway. All the patients from the bus had already climbed out with the help of one another,” says Derrick Banks ER24 spokesperson.

According to Banks one patient was entrapped in the bus and with the help of Durban Fire and SAPS search and rescue, the patient was freed and stabilized before been transported to hospital by ambulance.

Banks says the patient's injuries ranged from minor to moderate injuries.
“Some had suffered back injuries and multiple lacerations to the bodies. All patients were treated and stabilized on the scene before been transported to various hospitals in the greater Durban area,” he added.

The cause of the accident is unclear but it is believed that the bus was traveling on the N3 east bound towards Durban.

“Metro police, RTI, Fire and Rescue from all areas, EMRS, SAPS and Rescue were intendances,” says Banks.
