The reduced power feed from Eskom is slowing down trains on the Acacia-Salt River line. The trains between Muizenberg and Simons Town are running more slowly because of storms that damage the tracks.
Metro rail’s Riana Scott said that, problems on the Acacia-Salt River line will continue to affect commuters and that trains that are directly powered from the source will be affected.
She added that because of the reduced power feed trains are not able to operate on full capacity speed as a result trains would not be able to keep up the normal time table.
It is alleged that Eskom can not estimate the exact time of full restoration.
