The African National Congress
says a investigation into embattled Western Cape leader Marius Fransman by the
party’s integrity committee is an internal issue, which will not be discussed
publicly at this stage.
The committee, led by party
veterans, has reportedly recommended Fransman step down from his position for
bringing the party into disrepute.
It relates to claims of sexual
assault against the politician by 21-year-old
Louisa Wynand.
The ANC’s Khusela Sangoni says
the party won’t publicly discuss the findings of a
leaked report.
Fransman says the integrity
committee has not formally informed him about its findings.
He says the investigation had
been compromised by political convenience, orchestrated by party’s
intent on destroying his career.
