Hawks granted preservation order on furniture stolen in Cash-in-transit robbery at Fresh Fruit market

The Western Cape High Court has granted a preservation order on Friday, for the Hawks in the province, for furniture

The furniture, valued at R45 000, was part of an alleged cash in transit heist that occurred at Fresh Fruit market in January 2021.

‘’A cash security vehicle was robbed of approximately R4 million. Investigation led the team to an individual who was reported to have loads of cash in his possession,’’ said Lieutenant Colonel Siyabulela Vukubi, Hawks spokesperson.

‘’An intelligence driven operation was conducted and a cash to the amount of R210 300 was recovered as well as the furniture inside the house was seized, which was believed to be the proceeds of unlawful activities,’’ he added.
