Wage negotiations between Pick 'n Pay and catering workers' union SACCAWU have collapsed, again.Employees are demanding an increase of either R500 or 12%, but the company is not giving in from its R385 offer.
The talks between the parties started at the CCMA on Monday, following strike action by thousands of employees last week.The South African Congress of Catering and Allied Workers Union says despite the deadlock in wage negotiations, they will not immediately embark on further strike action.
Last week thousands of its members marched to Pick 'n Pay headquarters in cities across the country, demanding salary increase.The union's Jan Kotze says they are open to further talks.It is reported that, Pick 'n Pay also committed itself to resolving the dispute.
