The DA call on the Correctional Services officials based at the C-Max Prison to direct their attention on improving prison security, instead of trying to identify staff whistleblowers that have exposed prison security issues.
Reports have shown that that Correctional Services officials based at this prison have launched an internal investigation in order to expose whistleblowers that have revealed security problems.
If any of the allegations are true, it will reveal that the distorted thinking on the part of Correctional Services management, who believe that security, will improve if they can stop staff from revealing the breaches.
The Department should focus its attention on solving the problem and not silencing their own staff. The DA will pursue the matter in the Correctional Services Portfolio Committee.
