Police have no new leads in the murder investigation involving a truck driver who died on the N1 on Monday.

Michael Tukwayo, 45, had been killed after he was struck by a brick on his chest allegedly thrown by three boys from a pedestrian bridge on the N1 near Paarl.

The brick impacted the windscreen of the vehicle and hit Tukwayo on his chest.

According to police spokesperson Captain Elliot Sinyangana, Tukwayo had been driving a delivery truck from Worcester to Cape Town.

Sinyangana says the truck driver had managed to control the vehicle and bring it to a stand-still.

The passenger in the vehicle ran to a nearby shop to call his employer and another truck driver. On returning to the vehicle, he found that Tukwayo had already died.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
