An 18-year-old man was arrested, after he allegedly stabbed his friend to death, at Gaxa village in Centane, Eastern Cape on Friday.
The two had been involved in a scuffle after Lungani Ntakakana, who is also 18, refused to accompany the suspect to a nearby shop.
Police spokesperson Jackson Manatha told News 24 that the suspect said Ntakakana assaulted him first, which led him to drawing his knife and stabbing him three times.
He will appear in the Centane Magistrate court on Tuesday.
