Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, will depart for Italy today, where she will hold discussion with her Italian counter-part, Dr. Franco Frattini on Saturday.
The meeting will take place in Lake Como, north of Milan.
Discussion between the ministers will include bilateral political and economic issues and on the situation in Zimbabwe, Sudan and the DRC.
Italy ranks amongst South Africa’s top ten trading partners.
According to figures provided by the Department of Trade and Industry total trade between South Africa and Italy amounted to almost R26 billion last year.
