MEC for Health Marius Fransman has opened the new refurbished surgical ward at Red Cross Memorial Hospital.
Principal Communications Officer from the Department Of Health Temba Gubula says this ward is one of the busiest wards in the hospital, currently running a turnover of 220 admissions per month. It consists of 28 beds and is divided into cubicles.
“Ward D2 is the fifth ward to be refurbished at Red Cross”
Gubula added that this opening comes after the commitment made by the Western Cape Department of Health to renovate one ward per year at the hospital.
The hospital has High care, Isolation facilities, and Neonatal care and Urology services.
