Newborn baby was found abandoned in a construction site in Khayamandi near Stellenbosch this morning.
The baby was found by the members of the public and they alerted the police.
“When police arrived on the scene the baby was still alive and has been taken to hospital,” said Stellenbosch police spokesperson, Captain Riana Mathee.
No arrests have been made.
The investigations are still underway to find the mother of the baby.
