Mitchell’s Plain police are requesting the assistance of the public to find a man who can possibly assist in a rape incident that occurred last month.

This incident happened after the victim opened the backdoor of her house as she was about to hang laundry.

She went to the bathroom to collect the laundry.

“When she came out of the bathroom, she saw an unknown male standing next to the cupboard with a firearm. He then forced her to undress and raped her. The suspect left the house via the backdoor after the incident,” said police spokesperson Inspector Ian Williams.

The suspect is described as a black male aged 25-30 years old, about 1.75m tall with slender build.

He has a scar on the left cheek.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Ndileka Tshebe of the Nyanga Family violence Child protection and Sexual offences unit on 021 370 1706 or 083 699 7085.
