Talks between the SA Revenue Service and worker unions have culminated in a revised pay offer from the tax collector.
The revenue service has offered workers a wage hike of between nine and 11 percent for employees of respective grades.
“Contingency measures have been have been put into place should any workers opt to down tools this week”.
“Management met last night to co-ordinate the implementation of contingency plans at branch offices and at the biggest border posts in the event that some officials stay away from work,” said SARS spokesperson Adrian Lackay.
The National Health and Allied Workers Union and the Public Service Association will return to their members with the offer and inform SARS of a decision tomorrow.
NEHAWU Provincial Secretary in the Western Cape Suraya Jawooden said they will take the offer back to their members for discussion but workers are protesting outside SARS offices.

From this it is clear that the memebers do not accept the offer otherwise the action would not be continuing... We deserve much better tghan what they are giving us.
