130 000 municipal workers affiliated to the South African Municipal Workers Union will embark on nationwide strike action on the 12th of April.
The Union says in a statement it has lost patience with the South African Local Government Association’s delays, evasions and irresponsible attitude with regard to local government.
It lists the underpayment of municipal workers as a grievance amongst others.
Neither the Union nor the Association were available for comment.
