Over 2000 Irish Women and men arrived in South Africa as volunteers to build 250 houses in Khayelitsha.
Those volunteers are part of the Niall Mellon Township Initiative. These volunteers are planning to build these houses in a space of 11 days.
Niall Mellon’s head of Communications Management Carol Hissien said that they felt welcome in South Africa.
“This has encouraged them to return to this annual building”
Carol said that this has been their best year so far.
The charity has built ten thousand houses since its inception in 2002.
