Police were alerted of an armed robbery at a retail store on Main Road in Claremont yesterday.

Police investigations at the scene have established that the Store security officer and a teller controller, were on their way to the cash office, when they were approached by armed person near the staff entrance.

The two employees were then ordered, at gunpoint, to hand over the money to him, but refused to co-operate.
