The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed its concern with regards to the nationwide municipal strike cognizant that just over 50 days are left before kick off to the Fifa World Cup.
However the South African Municipal Workers Union has vowed to intensify its countrywide protests today.
Samwu says it wants the South African Local Government Association to introduce a job evaluation system.
But the Chamber of Commerce says disruptions to essential services, intimidation and damage to property cannot be condoned.
Meanwhile the city of Cape Town urges its residents to be patient with service delivery amid strike.
