Cosatu will formally announce its intention to strike over the 25-percent Eskom tariff increase today.
The trade union federation’s Zwelinzima Vavi will hand over a strike notice to the National Economic Development and Labour Council, Nedlac, in Johannesburg.
Cosatu spokesperson Patrick Craven says Vavi will today personally hand-deliver a Section 77 Notice of an intention to engage in protest action, under the Labour Relations Act.
The notice will be handed during lunch time today to the Executive Director of Nedlac Herbert Mkhize.
